Loads of Liverpool fans have been responding to former Reds defender Jamie Carragher after he questioned Jurgen Klopp’s decision following his side’s 2-2 draw against Shrewsbury Town on Sunday.
The German tactician made the brisk call to announce after the game he would be fielding his youth side and that U23s boss Neil Critchley would be taking charge for the FA Cup fourth-round replay. The Premier League leaders surrendered a two-goal lead and their rematch against the Shrews is scheduled on Tuesday 4th or Wednesday 5th February.
Klopp told reporters after the game that he had already told his players a fortnight prior that they would have a winter break, cited by BBC Sport. However, not everyone from the Reds’ camp agreed.

The former Liverpool No. 23 posted on Twitter (via @Carra23) understood why Klopp would field a weaker side, but believed that he should take charge of the match. Supporters did not agree and made their feelings clear on social media.

Klopp and his family deserve a break from the stress and pressure. And obviously will have had it booked for weeks. Not fair to go tell wife and kids no holiday now as I have to work 1 day because the inept idiots at the FA have made yet another terrible decision!🤷♂️

I disagree Jamie, I feel Klopp puts alot of energy into the team. We as fans age with stress watching games so imagine Klopp. I believe the amount of time and energy hes put into the team, deserves a little break too.

Doesn’t matter does it? They will go at him wether he is there or not because of the selection. Klopp and Liverpool need to care about their own and no one else. They don’t care about us one bit so why should we?
