Liverpool fans have found themselves agreeing with former Arsenal striker Paul Merson after he suggested that the Reds do not get the credit that they deserve this season.
The Sky Sports pundit makes some bizarre claims but found himself echoing the thoughts and feeling of the Kop faithful. The Merseysiders sit top of the Premier League and 14 points clear of Manchester City, with some fans stunned at the standard of the domestic league during the current campaign on social media. However, Merson fought Liverpool’s corner as he was in awe of how they have performed during the 2019/20 season.

He claimed on Sky Sports’ The Debate that Liverpool do not get the ‘respect’ they deserve despite being ‘far and away’ the best team in Europe right now. He also questioned why Manchester City are tipped to win the Champions League this season when the Reds have reached the final in back-to-back seasons. Supporters appreciated Merson’s comments and made their feelings clear on Twitter.
