Everton-focused Twitter account @ForeverEverton0 tweeted pictures of a banner that was displayed in the away end at Hillsborough with the message ‘Two clubs, one city’.

The banner also included a reference to the number 96, which was the number of Liverpool supporters who lost their lives in a crush at the stadium in 1989 when attending an FA Cup semi-final against Nottingham Forest, as noted by BBC.
As a club, Everton have demonstrated solidarity with the families and friends of those who died in the Hillsborough disaster on multiple occasions.
Tributes were paid at a match at Goodison Park in September 2012 following the publication of findings by an independent commission’s review of the disaster, as reported by BBC, and in February 2015 a memorial plaque in honour of the Hillsborough victims was unveiled at Everton’s home ground, as reported by the Liverpool Echo.
