Liverpool: Fans reach boiling point as another twist in Thiago story reveals itself

Liverpool have been dealt yet another curveball in their pursuit to land hot summer target Thiago Alcantara.

The Reds are now reportedly facing competition from Premier League rivals Manchester City, who are also keen on snapping up the midfielder. With David Silva’s departure, the Citizens may be looking for another Spaniard to fill the gap in the middle of the park.

According to SportBild (relayed via @LFCTransferRoom), both sides have been viewed as ‘favourites’ to sign Thiago this summer. Liverpool have reportedly agreed to pay €30million (£27m) but are concerned by City’s presence in the race for the 29-year-old’s signature.

Fans have taken to Twitter to air their frustrations over this twist in the tale. One fan has said they ‘can’t take much more’ of the uncertainty surrounding the Thiago deal. The Reds had recently reportedly made an agreement with the player, but now talks appear to be up in the air once more.

Another supporter has tweeted that they think ‘Klopp should walk’ if the deal falls through. Liverpool have been linked with Thiago for months now and a lot of fans are already pointing fingers at FSG for not spending. This particular Kopite clearly believes it could cause Jurgen Klopp to snap if his main transfer target slips through the net.
