The Liverpool Echo report that Jurgen Klopp is keen to keep together the nucleus of the squad for next season, and that plans to bring in a backup left-back as well as a versatile forward no longer appear to be on the agenda for the Reds this summer.
With Alberto Moreno now at Villarreal following his release from the club (per BBC Sport), Liverpool fans may have expected the club to bring in a new left-back this summer, with the likes of Junior Firpo linked. Still, as the report outlines, Klopp is eager to use Joe Gomez and James Milner as a backup to Andy Robertson next season, which raised some eyebrows from these supporters.
