Liverpool are reportedly ready to table an offer of €20million (£17.9m) for Thiago Alcantara.
According to Le 10 Sport (relayed via @LFCTransferRoom), the Reds are preparing their first bid to acquire the services of the Bayern Munich midfielder. The Bundesliga side have valued Thiago at €40m (£35.9m) but may cash in on Liverpool’s lower amount due to the current financial crisis.

The 29-year-old would be the club’s first signing of the summer and will be their initial move in their bid to strengthen their title-winning side. Premier League rivals Chelsea have already bolstered their squad, so the Reds must keep up with the pack and try to keep their crown.
Fans have flocked to the news and are excited to see how it unfolds over the coming weeks. One Kopite has tweeted ‘Edwards is on the case’ whilst another has urged the club to ‘get him in ASAP’.
Given Thiago is a player who is a serial winner, has 37 caps for Spain and over 300 combined appearances for Bayern and Barcelona (Transfermarkt), it is easy to see why fans are so keen for him to join the club.
