Liverpool fans on social media could not agree on whether they would like to see their local hero Trent Alexander-Arnold play in midfield in the future.
The 21-year-old has become an icon of the city after helping the Reds to their sixth Champions League crown in Madrid with a 2-0 win against Tottenham.

In July, supporters revealed a mural on the side of a terraced house in his honour and took a quote from his post-match interview in the Spanish capital about how he dreams came true.
As a right-back, the youngster has cemented his place in the starting line-up and his range of passing has suggested that he could evolve into a midfielder in years to come.

Last season, Alexander-Arnold provided 12 assists which was a record in the Premier League. He also averaged four long balls per game, 1.7 key passes and a pass success rate of 77.5% (via WhoScored).
Despite the positive passing statistics in a defensive position, fans were not in agreement about his progression up the field and into the middle.
