Liverpool: Fans delighted with defensive record following early season criticism

Loads of Liverpool fans have been drooling over the club’s defensive record after receiving criticism earlier in the season.

After going on their worst run for keeping clean sheets, Jurgen Klopp’s side have managed to revive their fortunes defensively, with data analyst Dan Kennett on Twitter (via @DanKennett) noting that the Reds have only conceded one Premier League goal in two months. This has helped the Merseyside club to generate a 22-point lead at the top of the table ahead of rivals Manchester City.

Liverpool can still win the treble this season, as well as retain the Champions League and finish the season with more than the 100 points that Manchester City achieved during the 2017/18 campaign, as per talkSPORT. Some supporters were drooling over their latest record and made their feelings clear on social media. One fan described it as “utter madness”, while another was in disbelief and called it “insane”.
