Liverpool could have ended up recouping more than £53m from transferring players out of the club this summer.
Paul Joyce, Northern Football Correspondent for The Times, tweeted that the Reds have potentially made £53.2m from the sales and loans of players during the transfer window. [via @_pauljoyce]

Liverpool confirmed the permanent departures of two players yesterday on transfer deadline day in several European leagues, selling Ryan Kent to Rangers for a fee of up to £7.5m, and allowing Bobby Duncan to leave for Fiorentina in a deal worth around £2m, according to Sky Sports.
The Reds had already received transfer fees for the sales of Danny Ings and Simon Mignolet during the summer, and were frugal with their spending, with just £1.3m invested in Sepp van den Berg and Harvey Elliott joining for an undisclosed sum, while goalkeepers Adrian and Andy Lonergan did not cost the Reds a transfer fee.
That was despite the Anfield club being linked with Kylian Mbappe (according to Daily Star) in recent months.
These Liverpool fans on Twitter demanded that the club use this summer’s transfer profit to invest in a marquee signing next year in the form of the French star:
