Liverpool: Fans demanding a senior debut for Rhian Brewster against MK Dons

Teenage Liverpool striker Rhian Brewster is in line to make his competitive first-team debut for the club in tonight’s Carabao Cup clash against MK Dons.

The Reds’ assistant manager Pepijn Lijnders told liverpoolfc.com that the 19-year-old is in contention to feature and is confident that he will adapt comfortably to senior football. Liverpool’s official Twitter channel @LFC subsequently conveyed the team news to its followers.

Brewster enjoyed a superb pre-season with Liverpool’s first-team squad, scoring four times in their July fixtures, and while he has yet to feature in a competitive senior game, he has been in the squad a couple of times this season, making the bench for the 2-1 win at Chelsea at the weekend.

The teenager has scored twice in five games for the Reds’ under-23 side so far this term and, with Lijnders indicating that manager Jurgen Klopp will utilise the squad for the MK Dons game, he could be given his first-team bow tomorrow night.

These Liverpool fans on Twitter have urged Klopp to select Brewster for the Carabao Cup clash:
