Liverpool: Fans discuss James Pearce update as Yasser Larouci decides to leave

Young left-back Yasser Larouci is destined to leave Liverpool after informing the club he won’t pen a new deal.

According to James Pearce, the 19-year-old is set to depart from the club this summer in search of first team football. Championship sides Brentford and Leeds are both reportedly interested in his services which would be a huge move for the teen.

Larouci has just 12 months left on his contract so the Reds will likely start to listen to offers once the transfer window opens. He has made just two senior appearances for Liverpool this season, featuring in the youthful FA Cup sides that faced Everton and Shrewsbury (via Transfermarkt).

Fans have flocked to the comments of Pearce’s tweet to discuss this update. Many are wishing Larouci well in his next chapter, but several are worrying about what this means for the future of the team. One supporter has tweeted he is ‘leaving the sinking ship’.

The Reds haven’t looked like their usual selves since they were crowned champions, winning just two games out of five. It seems a lot of Kopites are already concerned about how next season will pan out.
