Timo Werner reportedly opted for Chelsea over Liverpool because he was guaranteed more playing time and a higher wage.
The Reds lost out on signing the heavily linked German after Frank Lampard swooped in to secure the deal. It was announced earlier this week that the 24-year-old goal-getter would be joining the ranks at Stamford Bridge in July (via BBC Sport).
Chelsea add Werner to their summer acquisition list after agreeing a deal with Hakim Ziyech as well, with Kai Havertz also linked to a move.

Liverpool will be looking to complete their journey to lifting their first ever Premier League title once they return to action. However, it seems Werner is still a sore subject amongst fans as they have taken to Twitter to discuss the update. The news comes from BBC Sport (relayed via @AnfieldEdition).

One supporter has commented saying it’s ‘his loss’. Given the once promising looking transfer link, it’s fair to say the Germany international would’ve been made a focal point of the Liverpool team.
