Liverpool: Fans drool over Curtis Jones following Shrewsbury victory

Liverpool fans have showered youngster Curtis Jones with praise following his performance during his side’s 1-0 win against Shrewsbury Town on Tuesday.

The 19-year-old played the full 90 minutes at Anfield as manager Jurgen Klopp and his first team from the side’s fourth-round replay. Indeed, U23s boss Neil Critchley and his youthful team stepped in and helped the Reds advance to the next stage of the competition. An own goal from Ro-Shaun Williams with 15 minutes to spare was the only goal of what was a cold and blustery Anfield evening.

Jones, who is valued at £1.8m by TransferMarkt, was hailed after two outrageous pieces of skill during the tie. He managed to pull off a rabona which left the crowd in awe and followed that up with a nutmeg on the same player that scored the own goal, illustrating his technical ability. As a result, supporters loved Jones’ performance and made their feelings clear on social media. One fan said that he is the “next thing” and could follow in the footsteps of Trent Alexander-Arnold.
