Plenty of Liverpool fans have been reacting to the latest update on the Reds’ Nike kits next season.
The Merseyside club are into their final season with supplier New Balance after overcoming a High Court battle after the American sportswear brand sued over a refusal to honour the terms of their £40m-per-year deal, as per the Independent. With an array of eye-catching patterns and wild colour combinations (previously with Warrior), some fans were concerned about what their new kit sponsors had to offer.
Nike senior director Heidi Burgett reassured a disgruntled supporter on Twitter (via @heidiburgett) after he had concerns about the new Liverpool kit using templates. She said that the company have discarded them and have gone with 65 different chassis options with different styles of necklines, sleeves, cuffs and badge placement. Supporters were excited with the update and made their feelings clear on social media. One fan said that this was the news that he wanted to hear, as they await further updates and details on the 2020/21 kits, while another believed this was “great news”.
