Liverpool: Fans drool over update to Melwood’s Champions Wall

Liverpool fans have been reacting in delight to the addition of the Club World Cup victory onto the Reds’ Champions Wall.

The Merseysiders introduced the intercontinental tournament to their trophy collection after beating Flamengo 1-0 in Qatar.

Jurgen Klopp’s side needed to make use of extra-time to topple the Copa Libertadores champions. Roberto Firmino scored in the 99th minute after some unselfish play from Sadio Mane to secure their first Club World Cup title in their history.

The Reds had previously lost two finals of the old format, against Flamengo in 1981 and Sao Paolo in 2005.

Liverpool currently sit top of the Premier League, 10 points ahead of Leicester City, in a bid to add to their Champions Wall located at the club’s training ground, Melwood.

Supporters were delighted with the club after their victory in the Middle East and made their feelings clear on social media.
