Liverpool have been linked with Lyon playmaker Houssem Aouar ahead of the upcoming transfer window.
According to David Maddock (relayed via @AnfieldEdition), the French outfit are reportedly struggling with their finances due to the impact of the coronavirus pandemic. As such, they could be willing to let Aouar leave the club at a reduced price, and Liverpool are hawking the situation.

The 21-year-old is a very exciting young player who has tallied nine goals and seven assists across all competitions this season (via Transfermarkt). The Lyon-born midfielder has never played for a club outside of France, so a huge move to the Premier League could be a hard offer to turn down. If the reigning European champions and Premier League winners-elect come knocking with an official bid, Aouar could leave his native country for the floodlights of Anfield.
A lot of Liverpool fans seem to be on board with the idea of the 21-year-old joining the Reds. One supporter, however, is a little sceptical and has tweeted ‘The new Fekir?’
The Merseyside outfit were heavily linked to a move for Nabil Fekir back in 2018 and the move was all but finalised. At the last minute, however, talks fell through and the playmaker eventually moved to Real Betis instead (via BBC Sport).
