Liverpool: Fans excited by expected Ozan Kabak arrival

Many Liverpool fans reacted in delight to the news that Schalke defender Ozan Kabak is edging closer to a move to Anfield.

According to Sky Germany, the 20-year-old passed his medical in Gelsenkirchen in line with his Anfield move on loan with an option to buy in the summer.

Kabak has been playing in a side that is looking relegation-bound in the Bundesliga, having won just one game from 14 starts and rooted to the bottom of the standings.

However, Jurgen Klopp has a history of improving relegated players. Both Andy Robertson and Georginio Wijnaldum came from the likes of Hull City and Newcastle United – both were demoted to lower tiers before their arrival and are now key assets in the German tactician’s squad.

With this in mind, supporters were excited to see Kabak in a Liverpool shirt, with one even describing him as the “Turkish Maldini”, as it appears only a matter of time before the move is complete as Schalke move to sign his replacement in the form of Shkodran Mustafi.
