Liverpool: Fans excited to see Curtis Jones make Champions League debut

Lots of Liverpool fans reacted in delight after see youngster Curtis Jones included in Jurgen Klopp’s starting line-up to face Ajax tonight.

The 19-year-old was rewarded for his perseverance and his commitment to the cause in recent years and was handed his first start in the Champions League by the German tactician.

Jones, who has been at Anfield since the age of nine, has scored five goals in 18 appearances for the first team, which brings his career total to 46 from 98 outings at all levels (per TransferMarkt).

It is no secret that Klopp is a huge fan of Jones. After the local lad scoring a stunning goal that saw his side knock arch-rivals Everton out of the FA Cup last season, the manager described the midfielder as “exceptional” as he vowed to keep giving youth a chance in his team.

With this in mind, Klopp, a man of his word, is giving Jones the opportunity of a lifetime tonight. Despite the Reds carrying a lot of injuries currently, here is what the Kop faithful thought of his inclusion.
