Liverpool’s pursuit of Jamal Lewis has taken a turn as a transfer fee update has emerged.
James Pearce has reported that the Reds are indeed looking to bring the left-back to Anfield and have valued him at £10million. This price would break down into an initial £8m transfer fee plus an extra £2m in add-ons. However, Norwich reportedly value Lewis at more than double this, which throws a spanner in the works for the Premier League champions.
Would you like to see Liverpool sign Jamal Lewis?
Yes please
No thanks
Liverpool were clearly hoping to strike a cheaper deal with the Canaries in order to be gentle on their bank balance. But following Pearce’s update, they may have to return to the drawing board.
Lewis has been identified as a potential competitor for Andy Robertson and essential back up in the full-back position.
Many Liverpool fans are frustrated with the news and haven’t taken the increased price lightly. One supporter has slammed Fenway Sports Group for being ’embarrassing’ for not wanting to spend money. This isn’t the first time Reds supporters have unleashed their wrath on FSG for their lack of action in the transfer window.
Another Kopite has questioned ‘why are we behaving like this’ as they lose their patience with the financial setbacks.

That’s £20mil more than what FSG is willing to pay. Guess it’s Milner back at LB again for the 84746192058th season in a row.

Embarrassing that yet another window we are after cheap and average players. Fourth window in the row. All other big clubs are spending big and we’ve been told pandemic causing us not to do so. As if we were spending big before unless selling first of course.

We are actual cheap skates

Why are we behaving like this honestly, there’s no way we are that broke, the rest of Europe had a pandemic to deal with too and they’re all spending big

Embarrassing….. just don’t make any transfers and leave it at that then. Since we’re soooooo broke.
