Xherdan Shaqiri has returned to Melwood to train with the rest of the Liverpool squad ahead of the new season.
The Switzerland international has been an elusive figure for the club over the last few months, but now fans are hoping to see him take a slice of the action in the upcoming campaign.

Uncertainty has surrounded Shaqiri’s future during his absence but the club has uploaded photos from the latest training session and all looks well in camp.
The £14.4million-valued winger’s last appearance for the Reds was against Arsenal in July. However, this was his first game since January, which was a one minute cameo against Spurs. His overall tally for the season saw him make just 11 appearances across all competitions, scoring one goal (via Transfermarkt).
Supporters have responded well to seeing Shaqiri return to Melwood. Many are hoping the 2020/21 campaign will see him bank more minutes with the senior squad. Indeed he is certainly a useful player, having scored 73 goals and provided 68 assists in his club career.

One fan has said they have ‘tears in my eyes’ whilst another is imagining him linking up with Liverpool’s front three again. This supporter has said it ‘should be illegal’, as they predict a huge impact from the four in attack.
