Liverpool’s 1-0 win over Everton will feel so much sweeter because it was a young Reds side that knocked out what many would say was Everton’s first-choice team. There were a number of impressive performances from young Liverpool players, but it was Curtis Jones who stole the headlines with his wonder-goal, and Liverpool fans went crazy.

The 18-year-old had only made one appearance in the Premier League and Carabao Cup before Sunday, but the scouser managed to put in a 9/10 performance against the Toffees according to the Liverpool Echo. The publication said he was “cut loose” from his defensive shackles after half time, and he certainly gave fans something to cheer about.
The club posted news of the goal on their official Twitter account and many of those who saw the goal reacted in amazement and admiration for the youngster. They showed just how brilliant they thought the goal was in the replies, with one fan even comparing him to former Red Philippe Coutinho.
