Liverpool: Fans go nuts over James Milner’s goal-line clearance against Bournemouth

Loads of Liverpool fans have been going crazy over James Milner’s goal-line clearance in the Reds’ 2-1 win against Bournemouth on Saturday.

As shown in a short clip shared by Liverpool’s official Twitter account, Milner managed to prevent Ryan Fraser from finding the back of the net after he had chipped goalkeeper Adrian. The 34-year-old went steaming towards the goal before managing to wrap his right foot around the ball to deny the Bournemouth winger from scoring.

Milner’s heroics, and goals from Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane, saw the Merseyside club move one step closer to securing the Premier League title. It was just what Jurgen Klopp’s men needed following disappointing defeats to Chelsea, Watford and Atletico Madrid, who they face next — 1-0 down — in the second leg of their last 16 Champions League tie.

For these Liverpool fans, though, that can wait. Rather, they are more concerned with giving Milner the praise he deserves for his brilliant piece of defending against the Cherries. One supporter even called for him to be given a statue!
