The game finished 5-5 during normal time and Jones replaced Naby Keita in the second half as the Guinean appeared to pick up a knock.

A brace from Divock Origi, as well as goals from former Gunner Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, James Milner and an own goal from Shkodran Mustafi, wasn’t enough to win the game during the 90 minutes.

Supporters were delighted with the contributions of the Toxteth-born midfielder and heaped praise on the youngster on social media. One fan said that “the future is bright” at the club, while another said that the youngster is the “new Steven Gerrard”.
