Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson wasn’t able to travel with the squad for their UEFA Super Cup clash against Chelsea in Istanbul as he continues rehabilitation on the calf injury he incurred in last week’s 4-1 win over Norwich.
Instead, the Brazil international watched the game on his laptop, as shown on his Instagram story, but This Is Anfield assistant editor Jack Lusby’s eyes were drawn towards something else in the image, as he identified on Twitter.

The image in Lusby’s tweet showed that Alisson’s left foot was encased in a chunky protective boot, which led the journalist questioning whether it wasn’t just the goalkeeper’s calf which was giving trouble.
Alisson is set to miss several matches for Liverpool during his period of convalescence, and while Jurgen Klopp avoided putting a definite timeframe on how long the goalkeeper would be out of action, The Mirror hinted that he could miss their next five Premier League games. That window includes fixtures against fellow ‘big six’ sides Arsenal and Chelsea.
