Sportswear brands Nike and New Balance are on a collision course for the manufacturing rights for Liverpool’s kits for next season, with the contract potentially being decided in a courtroom.
The Athletic‘s James Pearce revealed that New Balance, the club’s current kit supplier, are willing to take their fight to keep that status to the High Court. Pearce subsequently posted a link to his article on his Twitter account @JamesPearceLFC.

According to The Athletic, Nike were set to be announced as Liverpool’s kit supplier from the start of the 2020/21 campaign in a deal worth £70m a year.
However, The Athletic have reported that New Balance insist that they have triggered their right to match Nike’s offer and should be granted an extension of their contract with the Anfield club. With Liverpool claiming otherwise, New Balance have filed the dispute at the High Court.
