Loads of Liverpool fans were laughing at pundit Gary Neville after his social media post midway through Liverpool’s 3-2 win against West Ham on Monday.
Neville posted a video of himself on his Twitter account (via @GNev2) inside the Sky Sports studio after the Hammers went 2-1 up and put the Premier League leaders on the back foot. In the video, he could be heard saying that Jurgen Klopp’s side were blowing it, taking satisfaction over the fact that he is a Manchester United legend and claiming they were “bottling it again”.
Naturally, Liverpool then turned the game on its head. Goals from Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane in the second half rounded off a hard-fought comeback, which kept the Merseyside club on course for their first Premier League title in history, and first domestic triumph in 30 years. One fan said that his clip “aged like milk”, while another spoke about irony after previous claims that the Kop faithful were “unbearable“.
