Liverpool fans in disagreement with Klopp over midfield situation

In today’s pre-Meryserside derby press conference (posted on Twitter by James Pearce), Jurgen Klopp was asked about his midfield being overrun during Paris Saint-Germain’s 2-1 victory at the Parc de Princes on Wednesday. Klopp opted to start a midfield trio of Jordan Henderson, Gini Wijnaldum and James Milner, leaving Naby Keita, and Fabinho on the bench.

The midfield was full of runners and players able to recuperate the ball, however, it lacked the defensive soundness to deal with such forwards that PSG have. It also lacked the creative spark required to break down the pairing of Marco Verrati and Marquinhos, the latter of which has been utilised in a deep midfield role as by Thomas Tuchel. With Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Adam Lallana injured, as well as Naby Keita yet to find any consistency in form, Klopp may have to look into the market if he wants to improve results amongst Europe’s elite.

The German’s comments – posted on Twitter by James Pearce – have got a lot of Liverpool fans talking.

With that being said, let’s take a look at their reactions.

The large section of Liverpool fans disgaree with Klopp on this matter.
