Liverpool fans have been reacting to Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s comments about the Reds’ squad that knocked Everton out of the FA Cup.
The Red Devils’ boss made the comparison ahead of the Anfield clash between the two teams on Sunday as Jurgen Klopp’s side pursue their first league title in 30 years. The Norwegian hinted that the Merseysiders might be getting too much praise for their 1-0 win over their hated neighbours as they knocked the Toffees out of the competition for the second time in three years. Solskjaer pointed out that his side was also inexperienced and said that his team was a year younger on average, as per the Liverpool Echo.
With the average age of 24 (according to TransferMarkt), Solskjaer does indeed have a younger squad. Not only that, the most youthful in the Premier League during their 3-1 win against Brighton. Despite this, the Kop faithful were in hysterics about his comments and made their feelings clear on social media.
