Liverpool: Many fans love looking back on Daniel Sturridge’s quality when fit

Liverpool fans will have fond memories of Daniel Sturridge from the 2013/14 season where they came so close to lifting their first ever Premier League title. The Englishman managed to score 21 goals in 29 games for Brendan Rodgers’ side that term and since it’s seven years since the club signed him, fans have been reminiscing on his best days in a Liverpool shirt.

Now playing for Trabzonspor in Turkey, Sturridge was part of the Liverpool squad between 2013 and last summer, and in that time he scored 68 goals and made 26 assists for the Reds in 160 games in all competitions. His time there, like his career in general, was hit by many injuries, but during the 2013/14 season, he managed to stay injury-free and on top of his game.

Liverpool content producer The Anfield Wrap shared a video made by the club about his years in a red shirt and they captioned it simply saying “seven years ago today, Liverpool signed Daniel Sturridge. Watch till the end” and added a red love heart emoji. Many fans clearly share the account’s love for the 30-year-old when they replied to compliment just how good he was on his day.
