Manager Jurgen Klopp opted to stick with the squad that won him the Champions League last season, with the addition of a backup goalkeeper and two young players that could hugely benefit the team in the future.

Goalkeeper Adrian, and youngsters Sepp van den Berg and Harvey Elliott were the only club signings of last summer. However, the Reds find themselves at the summit of the Premier League by eight points and top of their Champions League group.

Fans have been frustrated with the lack of transfer activity but can have no complaints about the performances on the pitch.

David Ornstein of The Athletic revealed during a Q&A that Liverpool “can and will spend” but also stated that there is no rush for them to do so.

Despite his revelations, supporters were not convinced and made their feelings clear on social media.
