Liverpool: Fans mixed on whether Adam Lallana should sign a new contract

Liverpool fans have been debating on social media whether midfielder Adam Lallana should be given a new contract.

The experienced midfielder’s contract is due to expire at the end of the season (as per TransferMarkt) and manager Jurgen Klopp previously hinted that there was no guarantee where the former England international will be playing his football next season. Despite his doubts, former Manchester City defender Danny Mills told Football Insider that he would likely gain plenty of suitors if he is released in the summer.

Lallana has scored just once in 11 Premier League appearances this season which was during his side’s 1-1 draw against Manchester United at Old Trafford in October. Recently, he has stood in to play in the No. 6 role in Klopp’s side while Fabinho has been out injured. In fact, Mark Baker of the Liverpool Echo said that it would be a crying shame if Lallana was let go.

However, some supporters did not agree as the debate raged online. Check out some of the best Twitter responses from Liverpool fans down below…
