As Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool continue to take no prisoners and fight towards the Premier League title, the importance of their full-backs grows every week. Both Andy Robertson and Trent Alexander-Arnold are sublime players who the Reds cannot do without, yet yesterday Arnold went off yesterday after feeling an injury, leaving the fans sweating.

Initially, Jurgen Klopp was planning to bring off Sadio Mane for Trent Alexander-Arnold in the last five minutes of their Anfield win over Burnley. However, with the young right-back feeling a niggle, Jurgen Klopp did the right thing in withdrawing the youngster as a precaution as he cast one eye ahead to their huge clash in the Champions League against Bayern Munich on Wednesday.
Given the fact that Trent Alexander-Arnold was only substituted on a precautionary basis, the Reds are all expecting him to be able to feature and start against Bayern Munich and will hope he can star in that clash. Bayern Munich will either put him up against Serge Gnabry or Kingsley Coman and whilst neither of the pair are easy to handle, the young Scouser has it in him to keep the German’s at bay.

Kopites everywhere are desperate for Alexander-Arnold to be passed fit for Bayern and given the fact his substitution was precautionary, he should make the cut for the second leg tie in Germany.
