Liverpool fans on Twitter haven’t taken kindly to Tim Howard’s title comments

As things stand, it looks like a lot of Liverpool fans are losing hope of winning the Premier League title. That’s not for lack of trying, and as if the Reds needed any extra motivation, they’ve been given some from an unlikely source. Former Manchester United and Everton goalkeeper Tim Howard has come out with some frank comments to CNN, angering a fair few Kopites.

Howard is certainly more remembered for his days as the man between the sticks at Goodison Park, but his spell at Manchester United will only have further strengthened his hate for his Merseyside rivals. Liverpool supporters have certainly not enjoyed these comments from Howard and have hit back with some strong words of their own, particularly targetting Howard’s achievements in the game.

The American goalkeeper is currently at MLS side Colorado Rapids, and whilst he may be a household name to the vast majority of Premier League fans, he’s not the usual pundit you see coming out with soundbites. The now 40-year-old shot-stopper’s claim that he doesn’t want to see Liverpool win the league while he’s still breathing is as strong as they come, although it looks like this season he can rely on Pep Guardiola’s Man City to save him for one more year at least.

The Kopites cannot stand the former Man United and Everton man running his mouth and his comments will only give them extra motivation in their title hunt.
