Liverpool were dominant again yesterday as they continued marching towards what looks like their first Premier League title. However, Jurgen Klopp won’t be thinking of the glory just yet. Wins like yesterday will certainly help their cause, although there was one moment in the win that left the Reds angry at Mo Salah, as he went down to win a penalty.
47' – PENALTY TO LIVERPOOL!#LIVNEW
— Liverpool FC (@LFC) December 26, 2018
With a narrow 1-0 half-time lead over Newcastle thanks to a first half Dejan Lovren header, the Kopites would have been desperate to extend their lead in the second half. It didn’t take them long to do so at all, though, as Mo Salah was adjudged to have been brought down in the Newcastle box, resulting in a Liverpool penalty that was calmly dispatched by the Egyptian hitman.
However, the way in which Salah won the penalty was poor. After he glided into the box from the right-hand side of the pitch, a slight arm on his shoulder saw him drop down theatrically, winning his side a penalty, but also gaining himself a fair bit of stick on Twitter from his own fans, who were far from happy to see their star man resort to such antics to win a spot-kick.

Whilst the penalty decision didn’t influence the result it’s something that the fans want to see Salah cut out of his game in the future, even if it does benefit them.
