Liverpool fans have been taking to Twitter to look back to one of the transfer rumours they were linked (as per Sky Sports) with last summer. Whilst tuning in to watch France play Belgium at the World Cup, one name has stuck out, Kylian Mbappe. The 19-year-old was linked with a move to Anfield last summer but considering the fee it would have taken, it never materialised.
Remember when Mbappe was linked to Liverpool last summer!

According to Transfermarkt, Kyian Mbappe is the 6th most valuable footballer in the world with a valuation of £108 million, behind only Neymar, Lionel Messi, Mohamed Salah, Harry Kane and Kevin De Bruyne. However, the Frenchman is comfortably younger than anyone on that list and his potential is limitless. This World Cup he’s shown what he’s capable of and it’s just a matter of time until he’s in the running for the Ballon d’Or.
Whilst, in reality, it was never going to happen, the Kopites are still wondering what could have been with the megastar. A front three of Mbappe, Salah and Sadio Mane, with Roberto Firmino dropped in behind would give defenders nightmares. It’s unlikely that Mbappe will ever move to Merseyside but that hasn’t stopped the Liverpool fans from dreaming though and they’ll be keen to see how the incredible PSG man performs in the World Cup final on Sunday.
Here’s what the Liverpool fans on Twitter have been saying:
couldn't buy his boots at the moment

From this, you can see the Liverpool fans all know they’ll never sign Mbappe, although they would all love to see him at Anfield.
