Whilst it would be hard to blame the Reds for giving Lazar Markovic a bit of stick as he finally departs Anfield, the Kopites have remained classy and have wished him well at Fulham. Some of them, though, have been quick to point out that the Serbian’s new side still have one more meeting with their title rivals Manchester City.
It was an honour to be a part of a club so legendary. A massive thank you to everyone in @LFC , it’s been a pleasure. Good luck pic.twitter.com/Cb3Ry2eWUn

Markovic and co will be welcoming Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City to Craven Cottage on March 30th, and the Reds will be relying on their former man to do them a massive favour and take some points of the Premier League champions. It wouldn’t be the first time they’ve relied on former Anfield employees to do so this season, and any kind of blow Markovic could deal City would be massive.
Rafa Benitez and Roy Hodgson have both done the job of overcoming the Citizens this season, and with the two of them being former Liverpool managers the Kopites won’t be ruling out a Markovic masterclass against City when Fulham face them at the end of March. It certainly is a big ask, and the fans won’t be expecting anything, however, they’re still hoping someone can take points from City again this season.

Score winner against Manchester City for us.— Peeush Sah (@AbbotshamSah) February 3, 2019
The Reds won’t remember Markovic for his efforts at Anfield but if he can get one over City as a Fulham player then he’ll certainly be remembered for that this season.
