A lot of Liverpool fans on Twitter have been urging their club to loosen the purse strings and sign Monaco and Croatia number one, Danijel Subasic this summer. The 33-year-old would be a good addition at Anfield and would give the club a good couple of years before he starts to decline, which would provide Loris Karius with two more years of progress before returning to the first-team.
Subasic looks to be a superb fit for Liverpool. The goalkeeper has a big presence about him and considering he already knows Liverpool defender Dejan Lovren very well from his time with the national side it wouldn’t be too hard for the Monaco man to adjust to life on Merseyside. The other aspect about the 33-year-old that would make him a good fit at the club is that he knows how to win. He was recently part of the golden Monaco side that won the French Ligue 1 in the 2016/17 season.
Given his age, if Klopp did look to sign Subasic he wouldn’t have very long at the top of his game at Anfield before starting to decline as a player, but if the Croatian shot-stopper could be prised away from Monaco for a small enough fee then Liverpool could opt to bring him in for a couple of seasons just to get them through until they can bring in a better option for the long-term. In the meantime, the fans will continue to look at goalkeepers and wait for their club to finally bring someone in.

As you can see, the Kopites would be keen to get Subasic on board and after a strong World Cup from the Croatian, they’re probably not the only side looking to sign him.
