Liverpool: Fans rave about Fabinho’s performance against Sheffield United

Liverpool secured a 16th Premier League victory in a row on Saturday, beating Sheffield United 1-0 at Bramall Lane.

It would be fair to say that the Reds were not at their best, with Chris Wilder’s side frustrating them for the majority of the match with a strong defensive display.

However, the European champions managed to come away with all three points after Dean Henderson spilled Georginio Wijnaldum’s effort into his own net. [via Sky Sports]

Whilst several Liverpool players were not at their best in South Yorkshire, one man who did perform well was holding midfielder Fabinho.

The Brazilian has been an ever-present in Jurgen Klopp’s starting line-up this season, starting six of their seven Premier League outings as well as their Champions League fixture against Napoli.

Against the Blades, the 25-year-old was brilliant as he made four tackles and two interceptions, won two aerial duels, made one key pass and finished the match with an impressive 89.5% pass completion (via WhoScored).

Fabinho’s excellent performance was noticed by the Liverpool fans, many of whom took to Twitter after the game to offer praise to the former Monaco man. Here is what a few of them had to say…
