Liverpool: Fans react as Fabinho and Thiago Alcantara aim to be fit for Leicester clash

Lots of Liverpool fans have been reacting to reports that both Fabinho and Thiago Alcantara are expected to be in contention for their next Premier League game against Leicester City after their recent injury setbacks.

The duo have both been sidelined recently, as part of the Reds’ major fitness crisis that they have on their hands.

Thiago was sidelined after testing positive for coronavirus and then picked up an injury during the Merseyside Derby after a wild lunge from Everton’s Richarlison.

But Fabinho’s setback was more concerning, with the ever-mounting absences they have in their defensive reserves. Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez have both been ruled out with long-term knee injuries. The Brazilian had limped off clutching his hamstring during his side’s Champions League clash against FC Midtjylland.

But according to The Liverpool Echo, both players are continuing their efforts to prove their fitness and should be back after the break. They could even be deemed ready by manager Jurgen Klopp to start in their first league game back against Leicester.

Unsurprisingly, supporters were delighted with the news, mainly due to having to reflect on plenty of negativity in recent weeks, as far as their injury crisis is concerned. A breath of fresh air for the Kop faithful.
