Despite having three players nominated for FIFA’s annual The Best award, Liverpool fans were not too happy about their goalkeeper Alisson Becker being left off the 10-man shortlist.

Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Virgil van Dijk were all nominated for the award following a season where the Reds came within a point of the Premier League title as well as claiming their sixth European Cup (per FIFA’s official website).
Yet fans felt that Alisson should have been placed on the shortlist as well for The Best award.
As well as flourishing under Jurgen Klopp in his debut season for the Reds, Alisson was key in Brazil’s Copa America triumph this summer as the goalkeeper conceded just a single goal during the entire competition (per Soccerway).
After such a successful year, Liverpool fans believed that the Brazilian number one had been underappreciated by FIFA for his lack of a nomination for The Best, and supporters took to Twitter to give their opinions on the omission.
