Fiorentina forward Federico Chiesa put in a stunning performance in Italy’s 9-1 destruction of Armenia.

Chiesa, 22, scored his first goal for his country, as well as providing two further assists in a hugely impressive performance for Roberto Mancini’s men.
Liverpool have previously been linked (according to Tuttomercatoweb via the Express back in June) with the youngster but have signed players like Mohamed Salah and Xherdan Shaqiri in similar positions in recent years, so it may be quite an unlikely swoop.
His strong performance for the Italians, during which he bagged his first goal for the Azzurri, left some Liverpool fans clamouring for Chiesa to join them though, even offering him as an alternative target to Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho who was touted as a target recently by Bleacher Report.
The youngster has scored three goals and assisted four more in his 13 appearances this season for Fiorentina.
His versatility and work rate would also be an attraction for Jurgen Klopp, capable of playing anywhere across the front three.
While there aren’t any new links to Chiesa from the Reds, the potential departure of Shaqiri next year could make a deal more likely; the Swiss international is rumoured to be on his way out of Anfield.

Thank god Federico Chiesa didn’t get his move last summer. Liverpool should go for him as alternative to Sancho. Get Chukwueze too sometime in the future & that will be Salah & Mane replacements sorted. Werner as Bobbys apprentice too 👀
