The Reds also ensured safe passage through to the knockout stages of the Champions League, topping their group and securing a tie with Atletico Madrid in the round of 16.
They’re aiming to win their third trophy of 2019 by securing victory in the Club World Cup in Qatar, where they take on Monterrey in the semi-final.
As the January window approaches, it looks likely that the club will complete a deal for RB Salzburg winger Takumi Minamino (per James Pearce of the Athletic) to bolster their attacking options.
