Liverpool: Fans react to James Pearce’s suggestion to sign West Ham’s Aaron Cresswell

Plenty of Liverpool fans have agreed with journalist James Pearce after suggesting that bringing West Ham United left-back Aaron Cresswell would be a good move.

The defender faced the Reds on Monday night, where his side were on the wrong end of the 3-2 scoreline which saw the Merseysiders move closer to their first league title in 30 years. With David Moyes’ side currently in the relegation zone, there is a real possibility that the Irons could drop into the Championship. This means that they could lose an array of key players keen to stay in England’s top tier.

Speaking in a Q&A with The Athletic on Monday, Pearce responded to a question asking who he would bring in from the Hammers, should they be relegated. He responded that he would sign the 30-year-old as back up for Andy Robertson. As a result, these Reds supporters agreed with Pearce and made their feelings clear on social media. One fan said that he would bring Cresswell in for backup, while another described him as a “good solid player”.
