Liverpool: Fans react to links with Raphael Guerreiro as they seek cover at left-back

Loads of Liverpool fans have been having their say on the club’s interest in Borussia Dortmund left-back Raphael Guerreiro after a report suggests the Reds decided not to pursue him last summer.

The Independent revealed that the club were considering bringing in reinforcements on the left-hand side of defence last July, with Guerreiro being one of those players on manager Jurgen Klopp’s shortlist. The move would have cost the Reds around £17m and a salary in the region of £60,000-a-week.

Guerreiro is appreciated at Dortmund and has had glowing praise from skipper Marco Reus and senior officials at the club, as per Kicker, via Bulinews. Supporters were mixed with their views on the 26-year-old and made their feelings clear on social media. One fan said that he would be a “bargain” for the fee disclosed in the report, while another did not rate him at all and compared him to former player Alberto Moreno.
