Liverpool: Fans react to ‘naughty’ Jon Flanagan throwback against Spurs

Flanagan

Footage of a throwback goal from Jon Flanagan for Liverpool against Tottenham Hotspur is doing the rounds on Twitter and fans are reminiscing over the superb yet rare piece of skill.

Flanagan’s super strike featured in Liverpool’s 5-0 demolition of Spurs back in 2013 – the scouser’s goal was sandwiched between a Luis Suarez brace, and a goal from both Jordan Henderson and Raheem Sterling.

The Merseyside local scored his only goal for his boyhood club that day at White Hart Lane and spent seven years with the club until his permanent move to Rangers in 2018 as a free agent (via Transfermarkt). Flanagan linked back up with his Liverpool captain in Scotland as Steven Gerrard brought him into Rangers’ ranks.

Many Reds supporters are responding to the video of the Liverpudlian, with many re-living the moment he scored against Spurs seven years ago. One fan has said the goal was ‘naughty‘ whilst another has branded Flanagan as ‘the greatest one hit wonder’.
