Liverpool: Fans respond to Ben White transfer links

Liverpool fans have responded in a positive manner to reports that Leeds United defender Ben White could be set for a summer move to the club.

News of the Anfield club’s interest in White moved forward this week after a claim by Metro that they were scouting the centre-back ‘almost every game’.

The 22-year-old defender has performed to a very high and consistent level this season, averaging 3 clearances, 2.3 interceptions and 1.7 tackles per game whilst also winning 5.8 total duels (SofaScore).

White, who is on a one-year loan spell with Leeds from Premier League side Brighton and Hove Albion, will undoubtedly gain interest from a number of clubs this summer, but Liverpool are seemingly in pole position to make a move.

Before his spell at Leeds, White developed at Brighton, joining the Premier League club in 2014 after spells with Newport County and Peterborough.

Leeds boss Marcelo Bielsa would undoubtedly be upset at losing one of his key players, especially as The Whites hope to be playing top flight football next term. Meanwhile Reds boss Jurgen Klopp may see him as a potential replacement for Dejan Lovren, who has been linked with moves to Arsenal, Tottenham and Lazio recently (La Lazio Siamo Noi).
