Liverpool: Fans rip apart Andy Robertson for ‘woeful’ performance against Man City

Andy Robertson was victim of a blistering attacking display from the former Premier League champions on Thursday.

Liverpool’s first match as new title holders didn’t play out in the same fashion they won the league in. Manchester City made easy work of steamrolling the Reds’ defence in a home win that ended 4-0.

A lot of Liverpool fans are wondering what went wrong, with many pointing the finger at Robertson, who had a particularly bad day at the office. The Scot racked up one of the worst ratings in the game, behind only Alisson and Joe Gomez (via Sofascore). His performance in defence was uncharacteristically poor, losing possession 15 times and winning just three duels out of an attempted ten.

Robertson was also unable to execute the crosses and long balls he is known for, with just two accurate passes out of an attempted nine.

Kopites have taken to Twitter to air their frustration over the match, with one supporter slamming the left-back for his ‘absolutely woeful’ display. Another fan thinks the Scot was ‘still drunk’ from the title celebrations last week.
