Liverpool fans raged at talkSPORT presenter Andy Goldstein after claiming that manager Jurgen Klopp “hung the kids out to dry” during their 5-0 defeat against Aston Villa in the Carabao Cup.

The Reds were forced to play a young and inexperienced side after they were made to play their quarter-final clash the day before their Club World Cup semi-final against Mexican side Monterrey in Qatar.
As a result, they were resoundingly beaten despite putting in a good performance. Goals from Conor Hourihane, Jonathan Kodjia, Wesley Moraes and an own goal by Reds’ youngster Morgan Boyes ensured that the Villans advanced to the semi-finals of the League Cup.
Under 23s’ boss Neil Critchley led a side that contained five debutants and which had an average age of 19 years, six months and three days.
“There are players that could’ve been there… Lallana, Origi, Keita..”
“I do believe that Klopp has hung the kids out to dry.”

Despite this, it was not a good enough reason for talkSPORT’s Andy Goldstein, who criticised the manager for not leaving experienced players behind such as Divock Origi, Xherdan Shaqiri and Naby Keita. He claimed that there was no guidance on the pitch and do not need to be in Qatar for the international club competition.
Supporters were not impressed with Goldstein’s comments and made their feelings clear on social media. One fan said that he “needs to educate himself” before he talks about issues that he does not understand.
Here you will find some of the best comments from Liverpool fans:
Andy Goldstein needs to educate himself before he talks, due to advertising demands from the CWC, all players partaking had to be there and its very obvious that all of the players that you mentioned will be starting today

A utd fan telling Klopp what he should do, hilarious, blame the league cup for playing this fixture 24hrs before a game in Qatar, they knew we had this game since we won the champions league

EFL showed disrespect to Liverpool for not allowing them to reschedule the fixture not the other way round

Spouting absolute nonsense. Half the things you said were factual untrue. He couldn’t fly players out after because they needed to be there for media duties ♂️ and the 4 players you named will play tomorrow. He will rotate the squad so they aren’t playing to many games.
