Steven Gerrard has praised Fenway Sports Group for backing Jurgen Klopp and transforming Liverpool as a club.
As reported by James Pearce in a recent feature for The Athletic, the Anfield icon has been waxing lyrical over FSG. Unarguably, the Reds have come a long way since Gerrard’s final season with the club, as they now stride towards their first ever Premier League title.

The Rangers manager has said: “FSG have been incredible for Liverpool. They’ve given the manager the right backing and they’ve taken the club to the next level commercially. Liverpool is a machine, on and off the pitch.
“I envy those players. I wish I was 30 rather than 40.”
Reds fans are questioning Gerrard’s comments, with many finding it odd how his views contrast the 2015 interview he gave claiming he wasn’t offered a new contract or he would have stayed at Anfield (via talkSPORT).

One supporter has tweeted the 40-year-old is ‘looking for the Liverpool job after Klopp’ whilst another has slammed him for potentially being ‘FSG’s yes man’ if he is one day handed the reins at Anfield.

Only saying that so he gets the job next. When he gets the job he will expose FSG
