Liverpool fans have been sticking by Trent Alexander-Arnold after a handball decision during his side’s 3-1 win against Manchester City was waved away.
Referee Michael Oliver did not believe that the visitors should have had a penalty in the fifth minute of the game. A City attack which saw the ball ricochet off Bernardo Silva’s arm struck the England international’s hip and forearm inside the area.
As a result, Jurgen Klopp’s side went down the other end of the pitch and Fabinho hit a 25-yard strike which thrashed past Claudio Bravo in between the City sticks. A VAR check was carried out but the goal stood.

Alexander-Arnold has come under criticism from Citizens’ fans and pundits after they believed that Pep Guardiola’s team should have been given a spot-kick, the 21-year-old admitted himself that he was worried when the ball struck him.
